Evan Piper 

Evan Piper grew up in North Miami Beach, he raised his family here and has called our city his home for nearly 50 years! Evan attended our local schools and graduated from FIU with a degree in Business Administration.

The longtime former Chairman of the Planning & Zoning Board, Evan was appointed to serve as our City Commissioner in 2018. After observing the recent climate and events in North Miami Beach, Evan felt compelled to step up once again at a critical moment in our city’s history. Evan is running to serve as our next Mayor of North Miami Beach because he knows that we deserve honest, experienced leaders who will serve with integrity in helping to bring our community together and guide our city forward.

In his professional life Evan is the founder and head of The Piper Companies, a locally based conglomerate comprised of several entities in the fields of Construction, Automotive/Marine, Real Estate, Medical and Professional Speaking/Training.  A successful entrepreneur operating in our area since the late 1970’s, Evan also volunteers as a leader and board member for several South Florida charities and business groups.

Evan is the survivor of a 2001 Airplane Crash and is currently in a wheelchair.  His journey taught him many life lessons including excelling in the face of insurmountable challenges.  Evan learned many motivational tools which he’s leaned on to develop his extraordinary entrepreneurial skills and remarkable determination.  He continues to share his inspirational story, knowledge, and experience through national Motivational and Business speaking engagements, and looks forward to bringing that experience back home to benefit North Miami Beach and its residents. 

Evan is the proud father of two sons as well as a loving grandfather. When not working, volunteering or spending time with family, Evan can be found partaking in one of his many hobbies including Wheelchair Tennis, Flying, Boating, Wave Running and Waterskiing as well as showing that nothing can hold him back from accomplishing his goals and passions.
